The basket I already had, but I did have to buy stencils because I have terrible writing, they were on sale at Hobby Lobby for a few dollars. After taping the letters on (I only had one "F" stencil so I had to wait for the first one to dry then add the next one!) I painted using white wall paint and a stencil brush. It was hard to get in between the weave so after the first coat I took off the stencil and using a small angled brush I filled in the spaces. Here is what I ended up with...
I decided to write "Stuff" on it because it really is going to be used for just that! I also didn't want to make it to specific like "Toys" so that I could move it around the house where needed. I am happy with how it turned out and plan to make another one for my office...any suggestions on what it could say?

ReplyDeleteHow about "more stuff"!
Keep the ideas coming!

hahaha cute!!!
DeleteHi Jen! I like the stuff added to your wicker basket, I have to try this, Walmart sells stencils and so does Dollar Tree you might want to take a look! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm now following you on Linky Follower!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! This just finishes the look and I have been known to label things with the label "stuff" (in fact there's a file box beside my desk that says just that!). Last year I moved on to wire baskets so this would definitely be a way to update the seagrass baskets that are kicking around.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to search for a basket . . .

I wasn't sure it would work, but it really really does.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of baskets so now I desperately need some stencils. I tried to do something freehand recently and it was total rubbish - needless to say I never posted it lol !
Fantastic! I don't think I've ever seen stenciling like that on a basket but it looks great. :-) Thanks so much for sharing your cleverness with us at Inspiration Friday this week!

ReplyDeleteThe stenciling really makes the basket much more special.
ReplyDeleteJen! I love this! It makes the basket look so sophisticated. And who doesn't have "stuff."
